what is the full exact local path to where you are trying to create the
folder? And what are you trying to name this new folder?

such as
Macintosh HD-->Users-->You-->folder-->folder

what are those exact names?

I save to my Users(artchick)-->siites-->auditsite
could it be that Dreamweaver has a default location for it and that it is why
it can't create it. B/C i name the site->Where to store files-> users-->
sites--> aduit_sites folder.what folder on the server do you want to store
files-->users->sites->audit_sites folder

What is the name of the hard drive?
I'm after the exact local path, to rule in or out a problem dw has on macs
when there is a funky character like ' or # or almost any punctuation or
upper ascii characters in the path.

try this-
open a web browser.
type this into the address bar:
file:///

now browse to were you want to create this site folder.

copy/paste the url from the address bar into your reply.

so path is
file:///DOT/users/artchick/sites/auditsite
??

Can you create the folder in mac finder, where you want it, then choose it
in the dw dialog box?

Can you copy/paste the path in the browser's url address bar to this folder,
as i asked, so i can rule out for sure a filename problem?

to quadruple check-

is it possible that there is a blank space on the hard drive name?
is it
dot
or is it
dot

if that isn't it- I'd suggest booting up from the osX install disk and
running Disk Utility -->"fix permissions" because i'm at a loss and am not
at your keyboard.
