Default Error/status message - how to get rid of it - 11-04-2004 , 04:47 PM

My co-workers and I keep getting the following error/status message in
Dreamweaver MX 2004:

This file has been modified outside of Dreamweaver. Do you want to reload it?

It pops up all the time and is becoming annoying. We do not know why it is
coming up so frequently or how to stop it. It seems to happen when we switch
away from Dreamweaver into another software window and then come back, say
after checking our e-mail in Outlook, for example. Nothing was actually
modified, however.

I have looked in our preferences, and it does not seem like changing anything
there would help. I have also tried to search the support area, but there is
nothing as far as error messages, which is really surprising to me.

Can anyone offer some help on this?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having problems with Dreamweaver. In order to help you
further I need some more information.

- Which version of Dreamweaver MX 2004 are you using? You can find the verison
number by going to: (win) help > about Dreamweaver / (mac)Dreamweaver MX 2004 >
about Dreamweaver, and clicking on the splash screen. The most recent version
is 7.0.1. You can download the updater for free from:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/dreamweaver/downloads_updaters.html

- Which OS are you using - mac or win?

- Could you please post exact steps I could follow to reproduce the problem?

This error can appear if the file is open in dreamweaver, and you move it.

Thank you,
Sharon Selden

We are using Dreamweaver MX 2004, version 7.0.1 on Windows 2000.

I do not know of any steps you can take to reproduce this error message other
than what I already described in my original post:

"It seems to happen when we switch away from Dreamweaver into another software
window and then come back, say after checking our e-mail in Outlook, for
example. Nothing was actually modified, however."
