Default Editing and saving ADP files - 03-27-2009 , 06:00 PM

I am trying to edit some ADP files here in Dreamweaver and am having some
difficulties. When I save the web page with an .adp extension from Dreamweaver
(either CS3 or CS4 for Windows) the web page causes ADP errors on the web
server.

If I edit the adp file in notepad I'm okay. If my coworker edits the adp file
in her copy of Dreamweaver on her Mac it's okay.

I'm saving the file with the "All files" choice from the "Save as type"
dialogue box because there is no extension specified for adp. I've even tried
editing the Extensions.txt file from within one of the Dreamweaver program file
subdirectories (adding ASP to the list) but Dreamweaver isn't displaying any
changes there.

Please please please any help you can give me would be great - this is driving
me crazy and slowing me down at work!

Hi!
As I see it? D is next to S on the keyboard so its likely a typo and should
be asp.
Check your set up in your site definitions and see if you have it set up as
a asp site.
If not that could be your problem.

Thanks for the preliminary replies. I'm afraid that adp isn't a typo. I can
edit asp files okay, but not adp which is a web page extension associated with
a Microsoft Access project.

I might have given this up as an outright non-compatibility issue if it
weren't for my coworker that has zero problems saving these files in
Dreamweaver (same versions) on her Macs.

I was hoping that maybe someone else has been through the same thing and could
lend some advice.

A .adp file is a Microsoft Project File, its not a web format, and not
one that Dreamweaver will be able to save as, cos its not Microsoft
Project.

What does your co-worker do with the file? It's not HTML or other web
based language, so Dreamweaver can't possibly open it. Or are they
saving web pages as .adp, and then what do they do with it? If they open
it again with Dreamweaver then it possibly recognizes the HTML and
displays that.

I think we need clarification.
