What sort of ecommerce solution? What does your server support? PHP, ASP,
ASP.NET, ColdFusion? What sort of payment provider are you planning to use?
Merchant account with gateway, PayPal or ?

A few items using hard coded scripting or a shopping cart with integrated
management tools run from a database?

Hi Cheryl,
The client is using a merchant account with a gateway, and wants a shopping
cart and management tools she can use to upload photos of products with prices.
Her server supports php.
Thanks,
John

Cartweaver may be worth looking at

http://www.cartweaver.com/

They have good support and documentation. You will need to know a little
coding though.

When I have php/MySQL support I usually use Zen Cart.

Thanks Cheryl and k,
Can you tell me how easy it is for a client to update their product lines on
Zencart and Cartweaver? Once I set up the shop the client wants to be able to
update frequently from their business without my help.
Thanks again,
John

I haven't used CartWeaver so I can't comment there but as for Zen Cart it is
simply a database administered by forms. You may need to spend an hour
showing them where to add products, categories, coupons or items like that
but it is really easy. I don't know if they have a sample store you can look
at online but you can download it and install it with the demo store
database to see what you think. Features are at
http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...ges&pages_id=5 For that
sort of basic test install it takes about 15 minutes, less if you can unzip
the cart on your server instead of having to upload the uncompressed files.
Basic configuration is to give it your MySQL account info and let it create
the tables.
