Default Easy Question?? Scroll bars in Table - 11-23-2004 , 07:49 PM

Oh boy, this should be so simple. I need to create a scrolling area that will
contain a lot of text (and theoretically pics) inside of a table. I have heard
that one should use the DIV tag, but do I have to add something in the <HEAD>
area too?

please help thanks so much!

Nope. You should just be able to (and I say this having never tried it)
just set it by editing your CSS and setting Positioning:Overflow to scroll.

But I've never used scrolls inside a document, so I could be wrong....
Give'er a whirl and see if it works.

Here's one way to do it with a div tag. The <style> is what's needed inside
the <head.

one more thing - I got it to work, but now its giving me a horizontal scroll bar that is really annoying, how do I lose that? Is it somewher where you designate the dimensions of the <td>?

Would need to actually see the code . Do you have a link online to the page?

Dillon,

Looks pretty good to me. I see no horizontal scrollbar in IE6, NN7, Firefox
1.0, or Opera 7.
