Can someone point me in the right direction?

If I want to produce a site where all the text and graphics were
stored in a database, what would be the best way to start?
can anyone recomend any good books?

I would ideally like to start on the ASP route, but PHP wouldn't be a
problem

To be pointed in the right direction would be fine. I have windows
2003 servers with asp and php support - I will use Access initially as
it is free on my servers, but I can upgrade later to MySQL.
