Default DW8: CSS Styles panel doesn't display the current styles - 10-28-2005 , 08:53 AM

I'm not sure whether I've misunderstood what's supposed to be happening here.
I've a linked stylesheet on an html page - everythng renders just fine, so
it's linked in correctly.
I was under the impression that if I was editing the html document, I could
click on a tag and see what styles were applied to it? This doesn't happen - I
just get the text that 'No CSS proeprties apply to the current selection'.
The only time I get to see anything is when editing a CSS file, which doesn't
really help me much.

Have I got the wrong end of the stick, or have I got a problem with DW?
Thanks,
R.

It would be hard to say without seeing your CSS and your HTML - can you show
me?

Make sure that you are viewing the "screen" version of your page:

View > Styles Rendering > Screen Media Type

Also, make sure that style rendering is on:

View > Styles Rendering > Display Styles

"View > Styles Rendering > Display Styles"

Bingo! Don't remember turning that off though...

Thanks for your help.

Glad you have it fixed.

FYI, DW displays all styles in the "All" tab of the styles panel so that
you can *edit* any styles on your page, but only shows the styles that
apply to the current media type and the "Display Styles" setting in the
"Current" tab because those are the styles that are *rendered*.

HTH,
Randy
