Default DW MX runs very slowly - 07-22-2004 , 07:14 AM

I'm working with an AMD 3000+ processor, 80 Gig hard drive and 1 Gig of ram
but Dreamweaver MX is very slow to load and every time I try to use a
function it takes about a minute for the process to begin, after used ounce
it works ok but the initial time to get started is driving me nuts.

Is this a program problem or could it be something in the compter.
Fireworks, Flash and other programs work fine - it's only Dreamweaver I have
the problem with.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

what version of DWMX are you using? If using DWMX2004, have you installed
the updater? See if this fixes the problem. Also try disabling AV software
if you use it. I run DWMX2004 version 7.0.1. Haven't encountered any of the
problems you raised but, then again I work on a P4, 3.0G with oodles of HD
space.

What is your AntiVirus, and is it doing realtime protection?

As an academic exercise, search here -

http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search?q=+group:macromedia.dreamwea ver

with "Norton" in the body and see just how much fun people have with this
abomination.

Please exclude the Macromedia program folder hierarchy from your realtime
scan and see if that helps.
