DW MX 04 makes RPC error in XP

Hi!
Anyone had a Remote Procedure Call Error trying to install or UNinstall MX
2004 on XP?.

It all started with the 7.01 up(?)grade.
Cute thing is the old site connections still work well, but I'd like to make
some new ones...hmm. The "Edit" and some other buttons in the Site Manager hang
DW... I thought I better reinstall from (the MM)CD, or uninstall, but no way.
Links to some knowitalls at MM anyone?
Win forced-ugly-uninstall-delete-files is not my favorite method

I've had a similar problem and posted it but it seems to have disappeared. I am
getting the error whenever I switch to my remote site. I have completely
rebuilt my computer and reinstalled everything fresh but am still getting this
error. Sollutions would be welcome...
