Default DW fails to startup on Windows XP - 07-06-2004 , 11:51 AM

No error messages. I deinstalled and reinstalled. Simply starts up and goes away.
Desperate - any suggestions on how to solve this?

How much RAM does your machine have. How much free hard drive space? Are
you running any other software in the background, such as a virus
scanner? When you right click on the Dreamweaver exe file, choose
Properties, and then click on the Version tab, what is the version
number you see?

I get this all the time.

Close all other apps and figure out which one causes DW from loading.

A common Macromedia prob is Flash and Photoshop CS, photoshop wont
load, or flash interface messes up...naughty macromedia

If that doesnt fix it load in safe mode and see if DW works..if it
does then you know you have a service running which doesnt like
Macromedia.

Cheers,
Tom

I'm having the same problem. Tried restarting and reinstalling. DW fires -
loads the initial startup box - flashes a second toolbar box - then disappears.
The "Macromedia Licensing.exe" is left running in the background.

Found the solution in another thread - had something to do with the site cache. Deleted that and we're back in business.
