DW CS4 Flash Plugin Not Found

Not to be redundant ... but ... same problem here.

oh it's not being redundant if no one from adobe will address this... but that
is My2Cents there... Wish I could say I fixed it but not yet... uninstalled,
reinstalled... 100 times now...

Just so you'll know, Adobe doesn't come here reliably. If you want them to
know something you have to communicate with them directly, or file a wish -

Looking through the archives, it seems you are about the 6th person to
have this problem.

The one and only message that says it was resolved, says that they
called Adobe support and were provided an FTP link to a file that fixed
it for them.

So, I guess I'm suggesting that you call Adobe Support on this one.

Here is a fix that worked on my computer. Only took about 3hrs to figure out.
ugh. I originally downloaded flash player from the adobe website using Internet
Explorer. Dreamweaver would preview ok in the browser veiw but not in Live
View. It would not play swf files and said that I needed a netscape/firefox
plugin. What seems to be the same problem some of you are having.

I downloaded Firefox. Then from the firefox browser go to the adobe website
and download the same flash player. You will notice the the page and the file
name are a little different than in IE. Then RESTART your computer ... load
dreamweaver and try live veiw again.

Hopefully works for you.

Sure seems strange since Live View uses Webkit, but it is clear that
the error does appear in some situations.

Excellent - did the trick for me too. After completely ignoring this 'feature'
in CS4 because it didn't work and was such an irritant, it now works. How come
Adobe can't fix this? Surely somebody on the programming team could work out
how to do it. Maybe they are all quite new to the job. Oh well. It now works
depsite them. Great.

Hi everyone - this was great! I was able to get my issues solved in mins rather
than hours. Internet Explorer was not allowing the plug-in to be installed - it
was only installing the ActiveX component - which is why it worked for those of
you who downloaded the Flash Plug-in via FireFox!:wine;
