DW 6.1 updater does not work - technote does not help

I am trying to update DW MX to 6.1 I get the error that Dreamweaver is not
installed in the idrectory I am pointed at. I have done everything the
technote says. I have uninstalled and re-installed dreamweaver to no avail.

Does anyone have a workaround to load the updater?

Windows? English version of Dreamweaver MX?

Could you please go to the Dreamweaver MX folder, and right-click on the
dreamweaver.exe file to get it's "Properties"

what does the info box list as the build or version number?

6.0.xxxx The last four digits are the build number.

*If it's 1722, it's Dreamweaver 6.0 and the update installer should work.
Check the technote for issues, and reply with more info pls?

*If it's a higher number, Is it a localized version of Dreamweaver in a
different language? The English updater won't work on it, go back to the
Updater download page for an update installer for your language version.

*If it's 1842 (6.1.1842) then the updater has already been run successfully.
It is now
dw 6.1, that's why the dumb error message that the installer can't find 6.0

*If it's 1714 - See above where 1722 is the Dreamweaver 6.0 build number.
1714 is not Dreamweaver 6.0 and the error message is correct.
