Dreamweaver Trial Trials

I am a photographer that wants to build a gallery site. I once had an extensive
site up wth GoLive, which I found to be pretty good (i.e. easy). I am not a
programmer, but want to build some sites for myself and clients and wanted to
see how DW worked. I'm having problems getting started with DW

So if you could provide me with advice here, I'd very much appreciate it:

1) I installed DW putting it on my main hard drive. Anyway, when I open it
this morning, it takes a half hour in "Loading Site Cache..." which is what its
doing as i'm writing this. It is caching every asset on my hard drive so I
obviously misinstalled in the wrong place. (When i installed it, it woudn't let
me stop the process until all the caching had taken place which took all
night!) Anyway, it isn now located in library>adobe support and is an xml file
in cache.

2) When I try to create another root folder, it tells me the root folder is
inside the folder for that site previouly made even though I'm putting it on
the desktop and may cause some problems. Can just go ahead a trash the
original folder and start over without causing problems?

running g5, os 10.4.9 on one 720 gig hard drive, 4 external drives

anyway, totally confused

Why are you moving away from GoLive is its been doing a good job? The
program won't stop working when its finally put to rest.

Dooza--sorry--been away but i wanted to get back to you...I want to do this in
CSS cuz first go live will no longer run on my mac because i upgraded to 10.4.9
and besides i want to work in css w/ dreamweaver to learn them both. I have
thousands of small images that need to be in a table like layout. Since i
posted people have advised me on using div and float left which works well...

but now I need to put a caption under each image. When i do that it makes a
column of all the images. Question: how do I link a caption for a specific
image among several in a row without destroying the row? I was advised how to
do that hear, but now I can't find it.
