The Dreamweaver Trial install.exe is defect

I wanted to download the Trian Version of Dreamweaver, because I heard a lot
of this Program and wanted to test it, but as i wanted to unzip the install.exe
winzip said, that the file is defect....

Many have reported problems when they used a download manager to get the
files instead of just downloading them using their browser. Might this
be the problem?

I've just downloaded and verified that both the German and English
versions of the Dreamweaver MX 2004 trial installer are working
correctly from an external internet connection, and not corrupt in the
least. Both installed and launched correctly after downloading through
MSIE 6.x. Gary's advice above is also sound- you should download these
installer files directly from your browser, and not with third-party
download manager software.

If that doesn't work, I'd suggest a scan of your system with a spyware
killer like Spybot S&D or Ad-Aware, as I've heard several reports of
spyware infestations causing corruption in downloaded files (not to
mention other woes). Heck, I'd recommend that anyway these days- better
safe than sorry.

English version worked it was the German that was messed up as reported by
magicpeanut. I downloaded the file and it was corrupted he contacted macromedia
by phone and they should have solved it by now.

This is true- I had no problems whatsoever either downloading or
installing the German DWMX 2004 demo earlier today- it is NOT corrupted.
Check prior messages in this thread for additional download/corruption
tips...

I haven't a clue about the technical matters behind the problems, but
it's as if different browsers downloads "wrong" file. I have, too,
encountered this with MM's stuff (and occasionally on other sites): I
cannot open the files, but need to try different browsers and either
just click the link or do "save link as...".
