Default Dreamweaver templates producing bad links - 07-09-2003 , 05:52 AM

Hi,

For the life of me I can't see what I'm doing wrong...

The problem I have is that when I create a template everything within the template looks ok. However, when I create a new page from the template all the links within the page contain a reference to the template directory. eg: href="/Templates/index.html".

At the moment I've resorted to removing the /Templates/ reference via find and replace using homesite - which is obviously not the answer.

Can anyone help?

Regards,

Rob

Did you manually create the Template directory?

DW gets a bit shirty if you try and do stuff for it... I swear DWMX has the personality of a 3 year old child!

Failing that, rename the file with the bad links and get DW to update the links in the page.

MX is like a box of chocolates - Someone's usually eaten the good bits already!

Folks:

Yep - osgood is on the right track here. There is no black magic - it's
very simple, really. Make sure that there are only Template files in the
Templates folder for a starter.

Well thats wrong, Templates/index.html. The only files in the Templates
folder should be those that end .dwt.

So you 'll have to run through stage by stage exactly how you are
creating your templates and why you are saving the pages spawned from
your master template/s into the Templates folder and not your site folder?
