Dreamweaver sluggish when editing Coldfusion file

Whenever I work with a complex Coldfusion file within Dreamweaver, DW gets very
sluggish. switching to the document from another document within DW or saving
the document can take 30-60 seconds. The documents in question are relatively
short (700 lines), but contain a lot of includes. The documents are purely code
- no design (it's my index.cfm in a fusebox app)

My gut feeling is that DW is looking at all of the includes and trying to
build the 'design' view of the document. Is there a way to let DW know when
building a design view (only a code view) is not appropriate?

Yes, that's the root of the issue

Edit > Preferences > Invisible Elements
Then uncheck "show contents of included file"
