Dreamweaver MX will not finish rebuilding cache

My computer starts to slow way down, and I get virtual memory errors when it's
rebuilding the cache it takes for ever, like over 12 hours something is wrong.
any help please. I've rebooted my computer and tried again, same thing. It's
a dual Xenon 2GHz's with two 200gig hard drives, and 512megs of ram, it says
the cache is 7000 files.

OS is Windows XP Pro. but I just upgraded to Macromedia Studio MX 2004 and it fixed the problem.. :P go figure.
