Default DreamWeaver MX - Context Help yields Invalid Path - 07-17-2004 , 11:20 PM

Have a recent problem with my DreamWeaver MX.

If I View -> Toolbars -> Context Help I receive several Invalid Paths
beginning with C:\Program Files\Macromedia\DreamWeaver
MX\Configuration\toolbars\basic-ultradev\budhelp.htm contains an invalid path
(I cannot find this path on my laptop).

I also receive other errors after this. If I disable the Context Help I don't
receive the errors...

My DreamWeaver was working fine a week ago with no errors. I have downloaded
extensions tonight -- can remove if needed via extension manager but not sure
which would be causing the problem... I looked the extension manager for
"UltraDev" and cannot find it...

Help??? Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Ultra-Dev extensions will seldom work in MX, unless the author has updated
them. There was a change in the paths because MX was made to work with
multi-user operating systems.

Suggest you uninstall the extensions, and check the author's site or the MM
exchange to see if newer versions of them that are marked as compatible with
MX are available.

if the extension is something you must have and can't find a replacement
for- it may be possible for it to be edited so it works

Alan,

Thanks for the prompt reply! Now I need to figure out WHICH extension it was
(Extension Manager doesn't have a date column in it (recommendation?)...

I've downloaded 32 extensions tonight <GROAN>...

At least I have a path...

Thanks!

All (and Alan)...

Any way to determine which version extensions are or the date installed in the
MX Extension Manager?

I have several hundred extensions installed (see problem above). Tonight I
have downloaded 32 new extensions. I have been able to turn off several of
them but cannot find the other extensions in the list...

Thanks for any help...

do you use them?

It's like going for a sunday drive with 2 tons of bricks in the trunk. The
bricks might be handy at some point when you get around to building a wall,
but are a real pain when trying to just get over the next hill.

Alan,

Obviously not all of them -- but would like to keep as many as possible if it
saves time on current and future projects.

If I stumble across something usable for a project now or later I like to keep
-- granted it is a heavy truckload but if it can save me time re-inventing the
wheel I'd rather carry the luggage (if possible).

If I cannot find a simple solution I'll have to disable (is turn off enough in
the extension manager???) all and slowly turn back on.

I was able to disable most of the extensions, but having difficulty finding
the last few. I looked at the actual .mxp file -- no use. I've searched my
hard drive for "ultra" -- no luck... Gotta be a simple way to figure out which
of these extensions are causing my problem (since I only loaded 32 tonight and
most have been turned "off"). You're a great help (I kinda had a feeling it
would involve removing the extensions installed tonight) -- I'm wondering if
there is an easy way to fix the problem...

Thanks for your help and prompt responses!!!
