Default Dreamweaver MX 6.1 Resource PIG !! - 02-01-2004 , 07:13 PM

Hi,
I'm really getting annoyed with dw, it seems to hog a load of memory when running with only a few files open. It seems to use up a load memory, which I have plenty of (1gb). It will quite happily eat up to 198mb and then grind to a halt, I don't have any other apps running apart from apache & mysql. The only way to bring things to normality is to close all the files I have open in dw & then shutdown / relaunch dw.
Hope someone out there could shed some light on this as it's really #@@#@# me OFF.

system:
xp pro sp1
amd 1.9
1 gb ram

What is your antivirus and is it doing realtime protection? Quite a few
other posters here with the same symptom (although with nicer posts) have
found that simply removing the Macromedia folder hierarchy from their
realtime scan has solved this problem with Norton AV.

hi,
Thanks for your reply but I have tried running dwmx without my avs (grisoft) active but I still have the same problem. The files i have open in dwmx are no more the 15k in size so im not sure what really is happening.
Sorry for the angry posting before but its driving me nuts.

thanks,
[*EuroTrash*]

There are many here who do not see this -

For example, my DMX2004 has been running for days now, with files opened and
closed all the time, and it is only using 8.7MB (W2KPro).

What's the difference? I don't know. Sorry.

You aren't alone... many people encounter this slugish performance. Keep
your fingers crossed that the Bug Update will be coming soon and will help
with these issues. Keep your eyes here and the MM site for it's release...
well at least that's the rumor.
