Default Dreamweaver MX 2004 constantly crashing - 11-19-2004 , 05:39 PM

I'm on a G4 1.5 Ghz, 1 GB RAM using OS 10.3.6. I've been using DW MX 2004 for a
while with no problems.

Just yesterday it started crashing all the time. Every few minutes, using all
different features it would crash. I even tried deleting every file in the OS
with dreamweaver in the name, and then I did a complete reinstall of the app,
but with no luck. I am running 7.0.1 and I have no extensions in my extension
manager.

Help! I can't use the program anymore!

Just to be sure - is any other application you use as much crashing?
(Looking for RAM or Motherboard issue.)

No mate... How about Macromedia write some better software for the Mac...
Memory leaks... Partial functionality... Find/Change works erratically... If
it is going to be subpar why don't they charge us subpar price... Simple
Library, or Template updates break the program not infrequently..

I've only had one problem with the program, about two weeks ago it starting
crashing whilst I was pasting text in design view, I uninstalled and
reinstalled and everything is Dandy now.

Cheers

IMHO, computers don't just start crashing randomly unless something else has
changed on the system to cause it. You say you've not installed any extensions
or modified the DW application in any way, so what else on your system changed
around the time this behavior started? It's very likely something in that
category is the culprit.
(I've been using DWMX2004 7.0.1 on a G4 Mac 10.3.x system for ~6-8 hours a
day, seven days a week- and haven't had a crash in months.)

I'd recommend looking into any other changes to your system that could have
caused problems around the same timeframe (installed other software products?
set up or reconfigured an overly-aggressive virus scanner? updated your system
or changed hardware/software configurations?), and then if nothing unearths
itself- contact Macromedia tech support directly for direct assistance in
troubleshooting:
