Default Dreamweaver Installation Problem - 11-12-2007 , 04:45 PM

I am attempting to install Dreamweaver CS3 on another computer (1st one is
crashing) and each time I try I get an error
"Setup Already Running" - You can only install one Adobe product at a time.
Pelase complete the other installation before attempting to install adbobe
Dreamweaver CS3"
There is nothing else running on the computer. I have tried to install in
the Selective Startup Mode (I run Windows XP Professional), closing all
processes, but I still get the above error. The program had installed easily
on the old computer about 4 months ago.
What can I do?

Log out of the current user and log back in. Also be patient while the installer loads, if you click it too much it can generate this error.

Thanks for your input. I have already tried this. I turned computer totally
off, signed back on, inserted CD and only clicked on the install button once.
It started loading and then gave me the error message.

I bet there is a corrupted file on the computer, but I cannot figure out how
to delete Dreamweaver or any part of it, since it does not show up in the
Program files.

i think you would get that error if, for example, Adobe Acrobat is downloading
and installing some automatic updates. are you sure nothing else is running in
the background? do you have Adobe Acrobat Reader? you could try uninstalling
that, then install Dreamweaver, and reinstall Acrobat afterwards.

Go into your task manager. Click on the processes tab. Then end pretty much
everything that doesn't have to do with your system protection (a/v, firewall,
etc) and Windows. Then you should be able to uninstall. If not there are some
tools on MS's website for drastic cases but I think it would be better to go
this route before going that route.
