Dreamweaver cs3 deleting code

I've just started updating an existing website on a PC, just changing the HTML
and CSS code, the problem is that Dreamweaver CS3 randomly deletes essential
code (not HTML, CSS or Javascript), it seems to happen when I do a find and
replace in either code view or design view. I am not sure what the coding is
but some of it looks like the code below:
<WC@TAG name="//Response/Price/PriceTotal/TotalPrice"></WC@TAG>

Now I'm not editing any of the WC@TAG code, so dreamweaver shouldn't be
deleting this. Also when dreamweaver deletes all this code I do a "control Z"
to undo the deleting of this code, and which means I loose all my changes on
the page and sometimes dreamweaver enables the code to be undeleted and
sometimes it just crashes. I don't know if my computer does this in past
versions of dreamweaver, but it doesn't do it on my colleagues computer who has
Dreamweaver 8. So I don't know if it's my computer (lack of memory) or
Dreamweaver CS3.
I've updated dreamweaver and all my drives to no avail.

And by the way, what are those < WC@TAG > (spaces added) doing? Where do
they come from?

Thanks, I've changed the code-re-writing options to none, so fingers crossed it
works

I work for a travel agency and the code are includes from a content management
system, which gets the flights on the system.

Dreamweaver is still deleting the code, it seems to happen when I do a "find
and replace" or scroll the files panel while viewing the code.

I now have to copy the code into notepad, change it there, then copy it back
into Dreamweaver to stop the WC@TAG code from being deleted, which is very
laborious.
