Dreamweaver Crash @ launch os x 10.4.9

I am having the exact same problem listed in the following post, but the only
solution given for the problem was to format and reinstall Dreamweaver. This
is absolutely not an acceptable solution for me, so I was wondering if anyone
had any additional suggestions.

I tried all the stock techniques suggested for fixing the problem (deleting
every conceivable pref file, reinstalling, reinstalling in safe boot mode
etc)... and nothing worked. Any Ideas?

Have you tried reapplying the 10.4.9 combo update (you can download it
from apple > support > downloads)? I don't know if this is an OK thing
to do, but I believe I have heard other people reapplying the updates
when things go wrong (you can also ask at the apple website).

ditto on the problem and trying all of the suggested solutions unsuccessfully...if you figure anything out, I'd appreciate if you shared what worked!

It makes me feel a little better to know that other people are having the
problem... I'm curious, can you check the output of your console (Applications

Utilities > Console) when you launch Dreamweaver... I get the following lines
before it crashes, I was curious if you got the same, of if it's just an

unrelated warning:

josh... what kind of Mac do you have?

Scary.. I have an Intel Mac Pro and Mac Pro desktop. I think I'll wait to do the upgrade to 10.4.9 - thanks and good luck.

FYI- dreamweaver will run on Classic 9. So far it has been running alright and seems to be an okay temporary fix.

Unfortunately you can't run Mac in Classic mode on an Intel Mac

By the way I'm on a mac powerpc 10.4.9 and no crash.
