Default Dreamweaver cannot determine the remote server time - 11-16-2004 , 09:22 AM

So, in addition to my other issues with my site at the moment...here's the
latest. I get this message from DW when I try to update my test files on the
server.

Dreamweaver cannot determine the remote server time. The Select Newer and
Sychronize commands will not be available.

Last night was the first time I saw this message and it's still happening
today.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Heather

What has changed regarding your firewall?

I don't know if it is what Angel's problem is but the same thing is happening
to me. I'm pretty sure (at least with me) it is because of installing XP SP2.
After a few days, I found some instructions on how to fix it (through Control
Panel>Security>Firewalls) and thought that it had been fixed but I just tried
to upload 20 updated client pages las tnight and it gave me that error. The
instructions that I found said to make sure that the application (in this case
Dreamweaver MX) was in the 'allowed programs' list and when that didn't work it
said to open a port manually (I think it was 21 but it was a while ago so I
don't really remember) The reason I didn't notice that it wasn't working is
because I've had a lot of school work lately and have been using IE as an FTP
client with the school's server. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate
it. h

Turn off your firewall.

Unless there is someone hiding in my computer, no changes to the firewall as far as I know, lol.

Well, it's not cosmic rays. And it's most likely not Dreamweaver that has
spontaneously forgotten how to FTP, so it would have to be something between
your host and the FTP interface in DW. I dunno what that might be.
Starting at your firewall would be a good place to start. Or, you could
just contact Macromedia and open a trouble ticket - they are pretty good at
solving these things.

Don't know if that was directed at me, but I'm using XP Home.
