Hi guys, For the last few weeks, I have had an issue with opening a file,
not
making any changes, trying to browse the file with a browser via DW, only
to be
asked to save the file. |
This is happening for two reasons. You are being asked to save the page
because -
1. When DW opened the page, it found and corrected errors in the code.
This causes the file to be 'dirty', and will trigger a prompt if you try to
close the page without saving it, or....
2. Your preferences are set to NOT use Temp files when you preview. This
forces DW to preview from the last saved version of the file. If you have a
file open, that is dirty, and elect to preview with this preference setting,
you will be prompted to save first.
The solution is to a) find and fix the error, and b) change your Preview in
Browser preferences to always use temp files.

This doesn't happen with all files and I haven't been
able to find a pattern. I searched the archives, but it is either not
there or
I am not searching with the correct terms. Thanks for any assistance you
can
send my way, it is driving me crazy! ;-) |
