Dreamweaver 8 won't go - Runtime Error - help me

Windows XP pro

Dreamweaver 8 worked great twice. I paid a lot of money for Studio 8 and
everything works except DW8.

I now get a RUNTIME error:

This aplication has requested runtime to terminate it in an unusual way blaa
blaa blaa

I can't get rid of my macromedia files because I have too many and they are
important. I am super deluxe frustrated. Does anyone have the answer that
doesn't involve me rebuilding my computer or have you had a similar problem and
would like to whine with me??

By the way, I forgot to tell you to talk to me like I'm 4.

I usually understand about 68.5 % of what you guys are talking about.

login to xp as a different user-
Does dw start?

If you need to create a different user- Control Panel-->Users


second thing-
What antivirus is on the machine?
is Real Time protection or scanning enabled?

1) Holey Moley! That totally does work. When I logged in as administrator DW8
starts up and works fine!!!!!!!

But then, I log back in as myself and the same ol runtime error again... grrr.

I disabled all my virus protection, firewall, and scanners when I first
started having these troubles.

What would make it go when I'm not logged in as me... is it personal?

sounds like you need to run as a administrator.....

LOL - I love this part! That works for me too! LOL

If the only answer is to run as administrator, then I'm getting my money back.
I purchased 10 seats of Studio 8 for my students and if its not going to work,
I'm going to have to send it back. When i called MM CS, the lady didn't even
get what I was talking about. This seems like it should be a simple problem to
fix, but no one can tell me what to do. Its frustrating.

Does anybody have any ideas?
