0. What is your version of Dreamweaver? And when you right click on the DW executable (dreamweaver.exe), then select Properties > Version, what is the version number you see in the properties panel? -- Dreamweaver 4 (Don't get a version option in the properties box- but the blue CD says "ZBWIN40CD") 1. What is your OS? -- Win XP 2. What is your AntiVirus? -- Norton with latest updates 3. Is your AntiVirus doing realtime protection? -- checks e-mail coming in 4. What is your Firewall? -- Zone Alarm 5.1.011 (tried exiting Zone Alarm and then starting DreamWeaver - it didn't help) 5. What other background programs are running? -- Norton Ghost was in background mode 6. What Dreamweaver extensions do you have installed? -- None - can't yet get to Dreamweaver itself 7. Are you *running* DMX from a network shared drive? -- No only on the local machine 8. Where are your 'local' files? Are they on a network shared drive? -- Local files will only be on the local machine, nothing coming from the network 9. Have you ever been able to run DMX or is this a recent failure? -- This is a Fresh install on a new machine - (see earlier notes) 10. Does this only seem to happen with certain files/sites? -- I'm not to this question yet - can't get the program past the start up screen. 11. Does recreating the site cache (SITE | Recreate Site Cache) help? -- See 10 12. Are you using *any* OS-improving utilities like "TweakUI" for example? -- No 13. Are you logging on as an ADMINISTRATOR, or do you have admin privileges? -- Yes - I do have and am logged on as user with admin rights HTH. |
