Default Dream Weaver Closes - 06-29-2004 , 05:40 PM

Dreamweaver MX closes when I change sites. I can only access the current site. Does anybody know why this could be happening?

a possible- the current site's cache file may be corrupted.

two ways to fix-
dw menu-->Site-->Recreate Site Cache (under Advanced in 2004)

or- Site menu-->Edit or Manage Sites.
Pick that Site, and press "duplicate"
duplicating the current site def will create a new cache file for the new
site def.

Ok, I tried both. When I go to the Site menu and select Recreate Site Cache
I get an alert box with the error: While executing
SiteOptionsSiteMenu_RecreateCache command in menus.xml, the following
JavaScript error(s) occurred: Exception thrown in native function. Then my
system locks up.

The second option results in my original problem. Dreamweaver closes as soon
as I hit the done button, and the site is never duplicated. Any other ideas
would be appreciated.

last ditch effort maybe?
close dreamweaver. (or let it crash..)

find the Configuration folder for You as a User.
open the SiteCache folder.

toss the site_name.dws file for that site.
restart dw.

Is this Local site folder huge in size?
really local, or on a network drive?

Alan,

Thanks for the help. I deleted the file in the siteCache folder, and it
worked. Dreamweaver recreated the Site cache, and I can access all the other
sites again. Thanks again!
