Downloading .exe from an Intranet

:confused;
I am using Dreamweaver 7.0.1 on a Windows XP Professional computer. We have
links to a bunch of downloads which are executables. When clicked on the
download dialog box would normally appear asking if you want to open or save.
When reviewing the file in Dreamweaver it works fine. But go to the intranet
site and click the link and the page not available appears.
I've checked the code over and over. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
