Default Double Space in Code View w/ different developers... - 07-15-2003 , 01:07 PM

Hi all,

I have a strange situation that I'm hoping someone out there will be able to shead some light on. Basically, we have a team of 2-3 developers working on the same project. All use DreamWeaver MX to check in/check out code and to edit the code. The strangeness happens when one developer opens the code and makes some changes, then uploads the changes, and a different developer downloads and opens that same code document... suddenly there are double spaces (in Code View) for that developer. Stranger still, is that the original developer still sees the code as single spaced.

We cannot seem to find any differences in the preference settings of the different sites... but it's extremely frustrating for one developer to not have correct line numbers to reference when looking at the code.

Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening and how to get it to stop (i.e. leave the spacing single)??

Thanks for any and all help/suggestions!!

Alan

Alan,

I've seen this with JSP files uploaded and then parsed (executed) by the server. If the developer sends the code directly to the other developer, are the lines single spaced (normal)?
