Default Do you have to have a reader download notice for pdf's? - 10-02-2006 , 04:10 PM

I have a few pdf's on our web site - so is every browser automatically able to
download these with or with out Adobe Reader?

Do I have to put on the site something like "Adobe 7 reader required" or can
the viewer just download our pdf's and their default reader will take over?

Thanks

No.

Neither will guarantee anything, but it's nice to warn people that it is a
PDF file before they downoad it and it certainly won't hurt to explain how
to view PDF files if they can't.

All browsers can download pdf regardless of whether the user has an appropriate reader. Obviously, in order to open and read the file, they need some sort of pdf reader.
