Default disjointed rollover not working on menu - 07-31-2004 , 12:18 PM

i have a disjointed rollover. the rollover consists of:

the nav buttons rolling over to a darker shade and then the title of the
page appearing. the client would like, on each page, for the on state of
the rollover to stay, as well as the title of the page. when a user rolls
over the other buttons, she would like the title to change accordingly. i
know i have seen this on sites before. can someone give me a clue as to how
to do this? all my rollovers work on the main page but not on the page with
the on state of the rollover.

a sample of the working page is here:
http://www.fonicdesign.com/sarah/

if you click on the first "flower" to the left it takes you to the
copywriting page and the problem nav bar.

Don't bother. Unless you are using frames it will not work.

Use normal image swaps to rollover your images.

Are you using templates?

no i am not using templates. this seems so simple. i have seen it on plenty
of web sites--without frames, visible at least.

i am looking at tutorials and don't see anything there either. i am not
sure i could do a frames page.

It is quite simple.

Are you using CSS rollovers? If yes, then I will take you in one direction.
If no, in another....

Using image rollovers on individual pages, just change the source for the
desired button to the down image.

Simple enough?

yes! so if i have that right, i DON'T need to switch to frames, but instead
insert a nav men through the insert object and make the down the "up"
confusing but simple....i think!

i have a disjointed rollover. the rollover consists of:

the nav buttons rolling over to a darker shade and then
the
title
of
the
page appearing. the client would like, on each page, for
the
on
state
of
the rollover to stay, as well as the title of the page.
when
a
user
rolls
over the other buttons, she would like the title to change
accordingly.
i
know i have seen this on sites before. can someone give
me
a
clue
as
to
how
to do this? all my rollovers work on the main page but
not
on
the
page
with
the on state of the rollover.

a sample of the working page is here:
http://www.fonicdesign.com/sarah/

if you click on the first "flower" to the left it takes
you
to
the
copywriting page and the problem nav bar.

But Libbi, you didn't use the navbar thing, did you? I *explicitly*
cautioned you not to use that! 8)

yes! so if i have that right, i DON'T need to switch to frames, but
instead
insert a nav men through the insert object and make the down the "up"
confusing but simple....i think!

Using image rollovers on individual pages, just change the source for
the
desired button to the down image.

Simple enough?

It is quite simple.

Are you using CSS rollovers? If yes, then I will take you in one
direction.
If no, in another....

no i am not using templates. this seems so simple. i have seen
it
on
plenty
of web sites--without frames, visible at least.

i am looking at tutorials and don't see anything there either.
i
am
not
sure i could do a frames page.

Don't bother. Unless you are using frames it will not work.

Use normal image swaps to rollover your images.

Are you using templates?

Libbi,
use the standard MM navigation menu
Insert/Image Objects/Navigation Bar
This includes a 'show down image initially' function.
Just what you need I think.
