I'm stepping into the middle here, but what browser are you using? And who's
your ISP? It almost sounds like your ISP is serving up a banner ad on top
that your browser is blocking.....hmmmmm

Murray...just made the changes...the table is STILL about 2 inches
from the top of my browswer window.

ALSO...when I look at your sample...it too is about 2 inches from the
top of my browers window. Is it flush top for you????

One of the factoids I mentioned earlier...when I am viewing the file
locally (from my laptop to my browers) the table is flush TOP. It is
only when I view it staged from an internet server when the table is
down a couple of inches from the top.

Thanks for putting up with all this...

Never seen this problem before...only this webpage acts this way.

ISP = ATT

Browsers this happens with OPERA, SAFARI, FIREFOX and OLD IE (that doesn't
view the animation)

MacBOOK Pro (with up-to-date OS)

Thanks again...

It was a good guess but it doesn't sound like that's it. I don't see
anything that could be causing it and it looks fine here. The wacky part is
he says the version you posted does the same thing to him....cross
browser.....

<table width="113" border="0" align="center" valign="top" cellpadding="5"
cellspacing="5" bgcolor="#006600">

<tr>
<td colspan="2">
<div align="center"><img src="graphics/002kivit.jpg" alt="under
construction" width="200" height="149" /></div></td>

You have not made the cell top aligned, and you have left a
cellpadding/cellspacing on the table.

Murray,

I did make the changes...noticed no difference and put the padding back in. I
appreciate you co-exploriing this issue. I am afraid I will have to
re-engineer it from scratch...piece by piece...the pain is I have to edit on my
machine...then push the page to the server...look and repeat until I succeed or
fail again. BUMMER

I have to find an answer...why I don't see the shift down from the top on my
local machine with local copy of the file. It is too tedious to tweak a
file...push...view...tweak...push...view over and over until it succeeds.

I narrowed it down...when I removed the following THEN the image is flush up to
the top of the browser window:

<script language="javascript">AC_FL_RunContent = 0;</script>
<script src="AC_RunActiveContent.js" language="javascript"></script>
<script language="javascript">
if (AC_FL_RunContent == 0) {
alert("This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js.");
} else {
AC_FL_RunContent(
'codebase',
'http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0
,0,0',
'width', '640',
'height', '280',
'src', 'finally',
'quality', 'high',
'pluginspage', 'http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer',
'align', 'top',
'play', 'true',
'loop', 'false',
'scale', 'showall',
'wmode', 'transparent',
'devicefont', 'false',
'id', 'finally',
'bgcolor', '#006600',
'name', 'finally',
'menu', 'true',
'allowFullScreen', 'false',
'allowScriptAccess','sameDomain',
'movie', 'finally',
'salign', ''
); //end AC code
}
</script>

I GOT IT...I don't understand it...but I GOT

At the end of the Javascript there is "salign"

I set it thus 'salign', "t"

AND IT WORKS NOW...I still don't understand why it did not work from my local
machine...oh well.!

thanks
