Default Desperate for help - 06-30-2008 , 10:22 AM

I have recently upgraded to CS3 and I am in the middle of building a page. I am
familiar with how to build sites via Dreamweaver so I am not sure where I went
wrong. I have tried everything I can think of so I know this has to be
something really simple that I am going to smack myself in the head for later.

I have built the entire site and everything runs perfect when I preview in
Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari. When I go to the actual URL none of the
images show up. Not one image, my header, every button and favicon are all
gone! I am stumped. I have built this site exactly how I just built another
site and the other one works just fine.

I am not the one who usually does the sites but I understand the programs. I
recently lost my designer. Please clue me in on what I am doing wrong here.
Thanks a million in advance!

Without looking at your page code we can only guess. Please post a link to
this site.

This image is not on the server -

http://www.tampapunks.com/Images/STUD_BACKGROUND.png

Nor are any of the rest of them. Did you upload them? Is the
capitalization correct (*nix is case sensitive)?

This one has not been declared -

body {
background-image: url();

Just so you'll know, your approach to this page will cause you lots of
grief.

Thanks. I know this page is going to drive me crazy. Like I said I usually have
someone who does this for me so I am doing a lot of head scratching over here.
Thanks for the link. I am going to go read and re-read all of it.

The image are uploaded to the server which is where my confusion comes in. Let
the head scratching continue! :-)

With all due respect, I think you should hire someone else who can do
this for you. There is more to web design than knowing how to use a
piece of software, your best option is to pay someone who knows their
trade, and for you to get on with knowing your trade.

If the images were uploaded correctly they would be appearing, since
they are not appearing, then you have probably set the site up incorrectly.

Steve

Thanks Steve. I am probably going to do that. I have built other sites using
this program and all of which work perfectly fine. But it has been a while and
this is not what I normally do. Your time is much appreciated.

The images are not uploaded to the server. If they are, well then I can't
explain it because if you uploaded using DW they should have gone right to the
site.

If you go to tampapunks.com/Images you will realize that entire folder does
not exist. So either there was an error in the FTP process, which doesn't
sound to be the case since you did not receive any errors or the images were
uploaded to the wrong location which is a possibility or lastly the images were
not uploaded at all. BTW, I also tried typing in the names of the folder with
different cases on the letters since names are case sensitive but that folder
just isn't on the server.

Click on the files and upload them again. If they are not working, please
post the steps you are using to put the files on the remote site.
