Default Delete Record with multiple keys - 06-03-2004 , 04:56 AM

Does anyone know how to delete a record from a table with a primary key over
two fields?

I want to use a list box, but the delete option from dreamweaver only supports
deletion of a record identified by a primary key over a single field.

My Regards,
Marcel

I too would like to know: multiple key inserts, deletes, updates.

Marcel- there exists something called
http://www.interakt.ro/products/ImpAKT/index.php. I thought I remember it
saying it supported mutli keys, but I can't find it. Says it does multiple
tables and lots of other cool things.

The one time I installed ImpAKT 4 months ago, I had lots of issues with
connectivity and interoperability with my built-in dmx server extensions on one
site. Looks like an all-or-nothing solution, but I would appreciate to hear
any feedback/experience on this here. Looks like a winner, but I've not had
the time to play.

Hi yea,
I have most of the commercial extensions from http://www.interakt.ro and
find they are brilliant and never had no problems , the query extension has
made one to many, many to many type queries a breeze, I have been told that
they will have the http://www.interakt.ro/products/demo_1.html available for
VB asp users early September.

Fingers crossed they might release it sooner.

Thanks for the two cents on the multi-tables, twocan's. In addition to
multi-tables, will interakt do specifically mutli-primary keys? Say, for
instance: [CompanyId, ArticleId] vs just the standard examples of [ArticleId]?

thanks!

twocan's- thanks for the tip. Here's part of the response I got about
http://www.interakt.ro/products/bbs/view.php?prodId=1&id_art=&id_brd=11485:

Our products support only for single numerical primary keys. We don't have
support for this type of tables and its very difficult to make this feature
available as the primary keys may have from 1 to n fields.

Guess that settles that.. pitty. I find it hard to believe that the entire
world of web developers using dmx are not properly normalizing their databases
to often ultimately yield multiple keys on their tables.

Marcel- thanks for starting the thread. Do update us if you find out
something otherwise.
