Default Database Connection Issue - 07-09-2004 , 05:47 PM

I have created an Access database and ASP pages. Under "Connections" I have
a connector (accessdb.asp) and can use my original pages with it. I have
since changed the connector to a "Connectionless" and put the files on the
server.

Now, I want to create another page to connect to the access database, but I
can't see my local Access database for the connector that is listed. Any
ideas on what I have done?

Adam.

Don't you mean DSN-less?

In your accessdb.asp file you will need to list both connection
definitions (web host and home computer).
Comment out the one you don't want to use i.e. when transferring you
files to the webhost - comment out your home setting and uncomment the
webhost setting. When finished the transfer reverse the settings.

why you need to create I think is a DSNless connection. by and far I have
always found a dsnless connection far better then a dsn connection, as
sometimes a dsn connection doesnt stay connected 24/7 .
check out http://www.webthang.co.uk/tuts/tuts_dmx/gk_cons/cons.asp

it is very clear and I learned from it.
