Default Dashes stretch table - 11-01-2005 , 03:40 AM

I have several pages with a table on them that is meant to be limited to 600px
wide. The table appears fine for all pages, except one, where the table appears
stretched. The only difference between this page and the others is that this
one contains a line of text seperated by multiple dashes. Is there a way to
work around this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

In Safari, the chunk of text with all of the dashes breaks at some of
the dashes to preserve the table width, as it does in IE5/Mac. But in
Firefox/Mac the table stretches so that each of the strings of words fit
on a single line. Obviously this is a browser difference about what to
do with such long "words."

The only thing I can suggest is to put a space before and after the
dashes like:

so - bad - you - simply - shake - your - head - in - disbelief - talk -
your -way - through - it - and - go - and - have - a - shower - in - the
- middle - without - pressing - pause

Not pretty, but it seems the only way to get some browsers to break a
line within such a string.
