cut text in russian characters from word and paste in DW doc not working ??

I am using Dreamweaver for a university project.
I am using it in combination with Microsoft word 2000. I have a PC with Windows XP.
I have a problem. I have typed out a lot of text in Russian characters in word. I want to cut and paste this text to a Dreamweaver document as i do with english with no problems. When I paste in the document the text is pasted as ???????????????? ?????? ???? ?????.
I am able to write in Russian characters in Dreamweaver by changing page properties to Cyrillic and using Times New Roman font and setting my language bar to Russian. So writing Russian in Dreamweaver is possible but not to cut and paste text in Russian characters from a word document to Dreamweaver. How can I get around this problem?

Dreamweaver is apparently a non-Unicode program, so you have to use an
intermediate window to convert the Cyrillic to a format DW can understand:

I have done a similar job and it worked.

Used:
Windows XP Pro German
Dreamweaver MX German
Microsoft Word XP German - the only difference?

I set the language BEFORE I started to copy and paste anything, and just did it.
Windows XP is using INICODE (OpenType Fonts) though!
The Keyboard Layout is not even set to russian wenn pasting the text.
