customize layer scrollbar?

Hello- I have just figured out how to scroll text within a layer (ie: overflow-
auto). Now I would like to find a way to customize the scroll bar... maybe even
make most of it disappear- except for the arrows... and relocate it to the
left, rather than the right. Any suggestions? Thank you.
