Default cursor: ....problems - 10-31-2007 , 08:47 AM

I have a page that has a flash animation in it, but in IE there's a hand every
time you roll over it. I've tried using
cursor: none;
to get rid of it and have an arrow instead, but it doesn't work. Does anybody
have any suggestions?

It's IE-only behaviour as a result of changes Microsoft made several
years ago to their browser, regarding how Active Content (Flash, Quicktime
etc)
is handled, after losing a high profile court case.

If you're running Dreamweaver 8.0.2/CS3, the fix is already built into DW's
interface.

If not, try http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/

I have the AC_RunActiveContent.js file and have used it, but when ever I view
the page in IE the cursor changes to a hand even though the swf file doesn't
have any buttons in it at all. It's just a simple animation that's continuously
looped.

This indicates that you have not used the RunActiveContent properly. Can
you post a link to the page?
