Default CSS VS Tables - 07-09-2004 , 05:08 PM

Ok, I have been reading the +s and -s about diving right into CSS layout over
the table version and I am somewhat confused. Many people have stated that a
smaller transition is better (using CSS to position tables).

What is the difference if you use CSS to position the layers? What are some
of the pitfalls that can happen?

I have been doing a redesign using CSS and no tables and everythings seems to
work fine using the browsers that I have installed. Is there certain browsers
that I should be using the check the design?

It has taken a little bit of work to get what I want, but it seems to work.

In an earlier post, it was said to use CSS for rollovers instead of JS, where
can I find an example of this?

I am planning on attending Digital Design World Seattle, July 21-23, 2004, is
anyone going?

Ideally, all of them. ;o)

The mozilla flavors (mozilla, NN7, FireFox, etc.) are all quite good and
pretty close to standards compliant with CSS.

IE6/PC has some issues
IE5.5/5/PC have more issues
IE5/Mac has a lot of issues
Safari/Mac has a very few issues, but mostly is up there with the Mozilla
flavors.
Opera/either is pretty close to Mozilla now
OmniWeb/Mac latest version uses same renderer as Safari
Then there's the linux browsers.
NN4 (lots of issues, but I usually just kill CSS for that one)

Google for "css hover" or "CSS rollovers"

Posted earlier today with the unlikely subject of - Rollovers and CSS.
