I've recently started working with CSS and have a question regarding
text. I created a text CSS to format all of my text. What I'm wondering
is this: do most designers add text directly into Dreamweaver or do you
write it in, say MSFT Word, and then transfer it over to DW? Is there an
advantage of one over another. |
Number one, make sure you are NOT in layout mode, get yourself into standard
mode. Design / code view.
You can type directly into the DW window - however, you should use a
'container'., whether it is a table or a layer (AP Div).
when using MSWord to transfer text over, you may be left with some
formatting from that program which you will need to get rid of. If you need
to use text from MSWord, you can copy and paste into a text editor like
Notepad and then copy and paste into the DW window. But as I said, typing
into DW direct is the best option

Another question: I've set up my text.css to create a border and
positioning. When I do add text directly I've experienced a problem.
When I start a new paragraph it created a new layer with the same
text.css properties. How do I prevent this from happening? |
Ok, a border and position of what exactly?
Can you be more specific and show us your stylesheet or the page you are
working on by providing a link to it?
Bit difficult to give advice on so little to go on
I'll give you a url for a site that may help you get a bit further with your
css www.mako4css.com
