Default CSS Rounded Corners - a decent attempt? - 06-22-2004 , 06:52 PM

Hi,

I've been trying to reproduce a CSS rounded box example similar to the one
used on this very site and like the ones described in some detail in various
places like AlistApart. The problem I've found with them is that the graphic
slices need to be very accurate or it just doesn't work properly. I've worked
up my own version which uses three slices which basically can be cut as rough
as you want and uses dead easy CSS ('cos I'm not very good at it). It seems to
work on my own machine but as I'm using a Mac and Safari can you please check
http://www.funkyface.co.uk/index.htm out and give some feedback about how it
acts on other browsers especially all versions of IE for the PC.

Cheers

Greg

Hi there, just checked that page out and i'm using IE on Windows XP. The top
looked perfect but when I scrolled down to the bottom the bottom part was
missing leaving sharp edges, however when I refreshed the page the bottom
rounded edges appeared and they looked fine.

Same result here with Win2K and IE 6. Looks fine on top, square on bottom
until refresh, then all is well.

VegLA, The Kat,

Thanks for having a look. Regarding the bottom graphic not loading until a
refresh............I'm completely stumped. Anyone got any idea why that might
be happening? Seems to be ok on Mac Safari, IE, Netscape and Opera (latest
versions).

Cheers

Greg

I did a refresh and it worked, but when scrolled up then back down, it went
back to the sharp corners.

Thanks to all for this information regarding rounded table corners. I too was
interested and this information was helpful. Having said that...

...does anyone know how to get a drop shadow on the new "rounded corners"
table?

Thanks.
