Default CSS: Problem with relative height in percent!! - 07-01-2005 , 05:01 AM

Hey,
it's me again ;o) I have a problem with the following URL:
http://www.easy-to-candle.com/dev/cds/de/ga/

The page contains of a head div which contains the primary and secondary
navigation and the images (keyvisuals).
Below the head my "main div" begins. The main div contains three columns
(again div containers placed inside of main).
- left (which is the column on the left used for teasers)
- center (which contains the content area of the page. Center has another div
container placed inside it which is called "inner" inside of inner I placed all
other elements such as headlines, text, portlets (ptl), boxes, etc...)
- right (which contains navigational teaser such as a portal explorer, product
chooser, etc.)

Now the inner div is probably the element which contains the most content. The
content is different in length on every page.
Therefore it must have a relative height dependent on how much content it
contains. All the other divs placed in main (left, right)
have to adjust to the height of the center div. The only possibility I see is
to set a relative height. I tried this in the URL above but somehow it doesn't
work. It seems as if the two portlets (ptlHalf_l & ptlHalf_right as well as
their portletboxes) are not placed or included in the "inner" div. I don't know
what it is. I tried to figure it out for hours. But I get no result. Maybe
there is somebody out there who can help me with this case.

Thank you so much in advance,
best regards to all of ya,
innocence ;-)

What would happen if you set a height at all? Let the content decide how
high the div is. (This is the way you should do it. There is no way you
can predict what text size the visitor will use)

and it should be... What would happen if you *don't* set a height at all?
