Default css-p question - 11-07-2005 , 07:33 PM

Is there a way to set two containers flexibility to acheive the
following when the browser window is resized:

wide browser window (the outer edge represents the browser window):

____________________________________
Quote:
_____________ ________________ |
| | | | |
| | | | |
| text | | image | |
| container | | (fixed size) | |
| (flexible) | | | |
| | | | |
|_____________| | | |
|________________| |
____________________________________|

narrow browser window (the outer edge represents the browser window):

___________________________
Quote:
_______________________ |
| | |
|text container(flex) | |
|_______________________| |
________________ |
| | |
| | |
| image | |
| (fixed size) | |
| | |
| | |
| | |
|________________| |
___________________________|

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I am using a monospace font. Maybe you should too!

OK here's a link that shows what I meant:

I would not know where to start to do this with css, that's why it's
just a drawing. But the idea is quite simple, I think. I hope it's possible.

Go to PVII http://projectseven.com/extensions/info/minwidth/

Set the min-width for the text container.

_No_ HTML in newsgroup postings! And he _did_ use a monospace font.

Oh, stop it.

He was trying to show a diagram. An HTML post is the only way to do that.
Sheesh. Go get some coffee will you?

Not a single line of HTML here. Plain text with monospace font.
Right - and you see how informative it is, too....

Now that's a diagram....
It was a copy 'n paste from Seb's posting (except for the first line,
where I removed a leading blank) ...
