My client wants a portion of the screen scrollable so I'm using the overflow property in CSS but the height of the webpage is now really tall and adds a lot of extra scrollable area, which looks like its from the height of the overflow text. |

Hello - I started doing a website mainly in CSS (now is as good a time as ever..) however when I checked in Safari, Netscape 4, etc, the layout wasn't so perfect. Anyway, my deadline is pretty tight, so I decided to do a combo and just use tables since I'm comfortable witth them. My client wants a portion of the screen scrollable so I'm using the overflow property in CSS but the height of the webpage is now really tall and adds a lot of extra scrollable area, which looks like its from the height of the overflow text. Here's the URL: http://www.spodumedia.com/Senart/news.html Any guidance would be great. Also, if anyone can tell me how to eliminate horizontal scrollbars in the text area that would also be appreciated. thanks! |

Thanks Murray. Hypothetically speaking, if the client doesn't care about printing, etc (i know, i know bad practice), would there be any way to get rid of the empty area at the bottom..just for this first version? They have a very specific design. Thanks! |
