Default CSS hover buttons, all image no text? - 02-16-2009 , 12:17 PM

Im making a site where im going to use the same ?next? and ?previous? buttons
on lots of pages. I want to use images for these buttons with no text at all,
and the image needs to change when you hover over with a mouse.

What is the best solution? I could use Dreamweaver?s hover over behavior but
if I want to use a different image in the future which is a different size will
it update ok?

I haven't used them before but would flash buttons be a better solution?

I thought it might be easier (and better usability) if there was a CSS
solution, is there one? I know how to make the background image change with a
mouse hover with CSS but I need a solution that doesn't use text at all, just
images.

Could I have text links in the html and then with CSS set the text to hidden,
and also set the div?s height and width and background image, with a different
background image set for mouse hover? Ive been playing around with this but if
the div is empty I cant link to anything!

Thanks

Flash buttons are never a better solution.

Sure - Google "CSS Sprites", or read this -

I finally figured it out. Thierry suffers from a rare condition that allows
