Take a look at this article..... http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/mx/dreamweaver/articles/dw2004_cssp_06.html. The 'Note' on this page has me totally confused. Here is the actual text in the article; 'Note: Due to layout inconsistencies in Internet Explorer on the Mac, it can be beneficial to set the padding-right value, in preference to right value, to 247px. Margin settings are made in the Box category of CSS options.' OK - I know there are problems with CSS implementation in IE and IE/Mac but these instructions are not clear at all, not helpful at all. I'd really like to get the results this article describes on all platforms. Can anyone expand on this 'Note' a bit - or is the IE/CSS issue so messy that I should just stick with tables for layout? TIA all help, Thanks, dzash http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/mx/dreamweaver/articles/dw2004_cssp_06.html.:co nfused; |

Murray - That solves the problem 'sort of'. When I set the position-left value back to '0' and instead used the padding-right value to keep div#content on the left of the page, IE/Mac behaved a little better and other browsers were not affected. A few pixels (and words) in the div#content still overlapped the sidebar so the solution is not 100%. I have a bad feeling about this...there may not BE a 100% solution...is there. I'm probably not the first to encounter this. I appreciate your help and I'll be looking for more of Drew's CSS tuts. D2 |
