creating wesbite on mobile phone or PDA

Hi, my country currently implementing the 3G technology. I web developer, I
know like to know how mobile internet works. what kind of coding i need in
order to display my website on let say PDA or handphone. What I need to know so
that I can created website that able to display on PDA, or handphone? I know
3G mean faster connections and streaming video and audio is possible.... can
anyone help me here... i a newbie in mobile internet...

FWIW I find sites that are designed with CSS positioning scale very well
into a PDA browser - not a wap text browser - I was able to log on to a
site I designed recently and upload files to the server through my
phone/PDA.

The PDA I have comes with Opera as the PDA browser.

Hi, thanx alot for to fast repsond to my posting.... anyway, as i know wap is
only the text base surfing, right?.. I'm actually looking at creating a display
website with graphics and images... I looking to product that have Pocket PC
& smartphone... I would like to create web pages that display on those
platform.. I did some research, but i still not sure... correct me if i
wrong..... can i create website using html,asp and it can view in pocket pc or
smartphone platfrom? can i?

OK, I find designing with css positioning works great for the type of
browser you are talking about. These type of designs scale very well
into a PDA browser were a table design just doesn't seem to have the
flexibility.

Use CSS positioning and you will be most of the way there, Opera on the
PDA reads the CSS fine without a specific media type declaration.

I work with ColdFusion, and I have been able to upload files to clients
sites from my PDA without a problem during testing.

I'd forget mobile tech, the latest craze is microwave technology, you can
implement this with Macromedia MCW 3004. Basically it lets you create
websites that work on all platforms including Microwaves.

Install an Opera browser and try its SSR (small screen rendering) to get
at least an idea of how your site may look on a PDA.

In theory it's all quite easy - just set up another stylesheet for the
media-type "handheld". In practice it's a bit more complicated, because
many of the current handheld browsers are broken and pretty stupid.
