Default Creating Website From PSD File with textured content - 04-02-2009 , 04:17 PM

:confused; Hello - I NEED HELP

I have recently bought CS4 Suite but have never used it properly. I have
created websites before but never done them the proper way.

I start off by creating the website on Photoshop - making everything how I
want it and what not. After I have sliced everything where I want it - usually
around the links and the content section - I then go to File - Save As Website.

Once this is done - I open the html file in Dreamweaver - make the links link
and then I become stuck. When it comes to putting the information on the
website the only way I know how to do it is by editing the sliced content
section in Photoshop - saving it and thats it - information is on the site.

However - this causes me problems of itself - for example - if my information
is more than the content area it means I either have to re-make the site,
stretching everything and re-slicing everything to fit the extra information on
which is obviously time consuming as means I have to re-link everything.

It also makes it very difficult to update websites and make quick snappy
alterations - rollovers and other effects are also increasingly hard as you
have to make sure you slice around a given area, save the rollover state, and
its just a big pain to have to do it this way!

Is there any way I can make this easier for myself? The websites I make are
never normal ha-ha. They tent to be weird shapes and have content on
textured/designed backgrounds as apposed to simple one coloured backgrounds -
meaning I cant just type onto a blank Dreamweaver canvas and colour the
background.

Everything I know on Dreamweaver - which, I'm not going to lie - isn't very
much, has being self tough. Any help, tips or advice would be greatly
appreciated.

Regards,
Kyle Meredith
